Rapper Lil Wayne will release his new album digitally immediately following his performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

Tha Carter IV will be available on iTunes, Amazon.com and other digital outlets at midnight. The physical album will hit stores 24 hours later.
Lil Wayne says, “I am extremely excited to be the first artist to utilise such an amazing idea. I hope that I can open the door for others.”

The rapper’s Grammy Award-winning Tha Carter III was the bestselling album of 2008.

Sunday could be a huge night for Wayne – he’s also up for two VMA awards.

Rapper Lil Wayne was taken to the hospital for stitches to his head after falling off a skateboard on Sunday.
The Lollipop hit-maker was in St. Louis, Missouri ahead of his show in Kansas City on Monday when he took time out to visit a skate park with pals.
He suffered a wound above his left eye after taking a tumble and was taken to a hospital in the city, where he received nine stitches to the gash.
In a post on his Twitter.com blog, the rapper writes, “The Lou (St. Louis) was good but I busted my fuggin (sic) head at the sk8park (sic)! 9stitches! Gnarly gash over my left eye! Luv the people.”

Rapper Bryan ‘Baby’ Williams has been caught up in a legal battle over an allegedly bogus concert deal in Las Vegas.

Lil Wayne’s mentor, also known as Birdman, was reportedly booked by promoter Lana Fuchs and her company Billionaire Mafia LLC to play at Sin City’s Club Eve on Wednesday.

Fuchs claims she negotiated the deal with lawyer Philip Brutus, who said he represented Williams and rap sensation Nicki Minaj. She handed over $50,000 as an advance and was due to pay an additional $25,000 following the gig after receiving a contract thought to have been signed by the hip-hop mogul.

However, Williams insists he did not agree to the show and dismissed Brutus’ claim that he was the star’s attorney. The planned concert did not go ahead and now Fuchs has filed suit in a Las Vegas court.

The legal papers read: “Birdman had stated that he never signed the agreement in question, but it appears that his signature on the agreement appeared to be not Birdman’s, but forged signatures.”

Fuchs has named both Brutus and Williams in the lawsuit, despite the rapper denying his involvement in the deal. She is suing for $75,000 in damages, in addition to lost profits and other compensation, reports AllHipHop.com.

Williams isn’t the first artist connected to Cash Money Records to be targeted by bogus promoters – Wayne, Drake and Minaj have all been forced to distance themselves from false claims of representation.

Rappers Lil Wayne and Drake are taking Jay-Z and Kanye West’s lead and teaming up for a collaborative album of their own.
The Lollipop hit-maker has been instrumental in helping his protégé Drake achieve solo success and he’s now pressing ahead with plans for a full project together.
Wayne’s Cash Money Records boss Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams tells XXLmag.com, “Wayne and I recently talked about (the Wayne/Drake project). That’s definitely going to get done.”

Drake first revealed his intentions to launch a joint disc with Wayne in January.

Jay-Z and West’s Watch The Throne release is expected to hit the top of the U.S. album charts this week, and become one of the biggest debuts of the year.

Rapper Lil Wayne is hoping to share his style with fans by launching his own clothing line.

The hip-hop star has revealed he wants to put together a fashion collection called Rebirth, based on his own eclectic wardrobe, and is eyeing a release within the next year.

He tells XXL magazine, “I’m funky… I wear a whole buncha (sic) items at one time, you know what I mean? I be figuring you (sic) at least want one of them items. Like, ‘Damn, I’d love to have that safety pin he got on,’ you know what I mean?

“Anything. I got on these types of shoes, these shorts, this sweater… A year from now, I want all these items to be mine. Rebirth… I just figure people want to be funky like me, so I got my clothing line.”

Rapper Lil Wayne is readying himself for early retirement, insisting his busy music career isn’t fair on his kids.

The Lollipop hit-maker has been one of hip-hop’s most in-demand stars since releasing his debut record in 1999, but admits his upcoming Tha Carter IV album could be one of his last.

The 28 year old insists he will be ready to hang up his mic in his early 30s so he can fully concentrate on being a dad to his four kids.

He tells XXL magazine, “I’m bowing out still on top. I’ma (I am going to) make y’all want me when I retire. I honestly think (my career) is unfair to my kids. Honestly this is the real truth. So about 30, 31, 32, I gotta get ready (to retire).”

Lil Wayne’s ex-girlfriend Nivea is launching her own charity to provide support and guidance for troubled teen moms.

The R&B singer, 29, was prompted to take action after researching the numbers of young American girls having kids in difficult situations, and she wants to reach out to them and offer words of wisdom.

Nivea is particularly enthusiastic to help those abandoned by their families and forced to live in homeless shelters.

She tells Sister 2 Sister magazine, “I’m starting up a charity… I would really like to talk to these young girls. I’m hearing so much about girls in these shelters and these 12 and 13 year olds having babies and they have no parents at all. They have no one there to tell them it’s not the end of the world.
“You (sic) scared, you didn’t mean to do that or whatever the case is – they’re just sitting in shelters, waiting ’til they can get a job so they can take care of a baby or two that they have and it’s the most depressing thing. All we have to do is sit down and have a conversation with some of these girls and inspire them and give them something (to live for) ’cause it’s just bad.”

Becoming a young mom is something Nivea is familiar with – she fell pregnant with her first child, daughter Navy with ex-husband The-Dream, when she was 22.  She also had twin boys, now five, with The-Dream and has a son, two-year-old Neal, with ex-fiance Wayne.

Rapper Lil Wayne wants to become the first hip-hop star to be handed his own Las Vegas residency.

The Lollipop hit-maker insists he will never give up performing and is adamant he will still be touring when he hits retirement age.

Wayne even dreams of following in the footsteps of singers including Celine Dion, Cher and Elton John by creating his own Sin City extravaganza.

He tells MTV News, “I plan on touring forever, actually. Probably when I’m, like, 50, I might be like, ‘Let’s go, gimme some dates’. I actually plan on being one of those artists, with all the music and all the work I’m putting out, I believe that later on down the line, I can do Vegas.”

“I can be the first hip-hop artist to do Vegas every night. That’s the plan.”

Justin Bieber sent fans into a frenzy on Sunday when he made a surprise appearance at his rapper pal Lil Twist’s concert in California.

Lil Wayne’s 18-year-old protege was playing at the House of Blues in Anaheim when Bieber ran out onstage to join him for a performance of their duet Wind It, causing the audience to scream in excitement.

The “Baby” hitmaker has been working with Twist in the studio on another track, a forthcoming single titled “Wherever You Are.”

Rap superstar Lil Wayne has been slapped with a new lawsuit over allegations of unpaid royalties stemming from a 2008 collaboration with T-Pain.

Production duo Play-N-Skillz provided the beat for Got Money, the “Lollipop” hitmaker’s popular single with T-Pain, but claim they are owed at least $1 million from its release and inclusion on Wayne’s album “Tha Carter III.”

The song proved to be such a big hit, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis even interpreted it for rock audiences.

Play-N-Skillz first brought up the issue of non-payment in 2009, but the two parties have failed to make any progress in the months since, forcing the producers to file suit this month, reports AllHipHop.com.

It’s the second legal battle stemming from “Tha Carter III” to surface within a week – producer David Kirkwood recently launched legal action over allegations of outstanding payments and royalties surrounding sales of the hit album.

Lil Wayne’s ex-girlfriend Nivea was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and reckless driving over the weekend after she allegedly crashed into a tree in Atlanta, Georgia.

The R&B singer, who has a child with Wayne, had attended a wedding reception on Saturday night and was driving home after the event in the early hours of Sunday morning, Nivea, who was previously married to The-Dream, reportedly crashed her Mercedes into a tree trunk which had fallen down following a recent storm in the area, according to TMZ.com.
When cops arrived at the scene, she allegedly had “bloodshot, glassy eyes and smelled like alcohol (sic)” and claimed she had failed to see yellow police tape directing drivers away from the hazard.
The singer was taken in by cops but insists she only had three drinks throughout the evening and was not drunk at the time of the incident.
An unnamed child passenger was unhurt in the collision.

Embattled rapper The Game has blasted TV network bosses in the U.S. after learning the video for his new single Red Nation has been banned from broadcast for its portrayal of gang culture.

The Dreams hit-maker, real name Jayceon Taylor, was forced to cancel a tour of Canada last month after immigration officials refused him entry into the country due to his alleged affiliation with notorious Los Angeles gang The Bloods. And now the street links are causing The Game more problems.

He claims his Red Nation promo, which features collaborator Lil Wayne, has been deemed inappropriate for airing on cable networks MTV and BET.

In a post on his Twitter.com blog on Tuesday, he writes, “So BET ‘BANNED’ the REDNation video !!!!! Said me & (Wayne) were too gang affiliated in it. Thoughts?”

Shortly afterwards, the rapper added, “This just in: the video so HARD it just got ‘BANNED’ from MtV too ha ha ha….”

However, The Game is refusing to let the snub derail his plans for promotion – he has vowed to release the video online so fans can form their own opinions about the controversy for themselves.

He tweets, “F**K IT !!!! I’m premiering (sic) it on Thursday online MYSELF!!!”

Rap superstar Lil Wayne has teamed up with Limp Bizkit to work on the reunited band’s first album in eight years.

The “Lollipop” hitmaker made a departure from hip-hop with the 2010 release of his alternative rock project “Rebirth,” but returned to his rap roots within months after receiving mixed reviews for his efforts.

However, Wayne is trying to conquer the genre again by rocking out with Limp Bizkit on “Gold Cobra.”

Revealing news of the collaboration on Twitter.com, frontman Fred Durst writes, “Oh, excuse me, sixteenth song mixed is Ready To Go featuring Lil Wayne! …I love it.”

Limp Bizkit’s last album, “Results May Vary,” was released in 2003.

Rap superstar Lil Wayne has been forced to axe plans to tour the U.K. this summer after British immigration officials refused to issue him a work visa due to his criminal convictions.

The Lollipop hit-maker is currently on the road in the U.S. with Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and Travis Barker, as part of his I Am Still Music Tour, and he was expected to launch the trek across the Atlantic after the May release of his album, Tha Carter IV.

However, Stereoboard.com reports U.K. border officials have rejected Wayne’s visa application as a result of his recent prison stint for weapons possession. The hip-hop star served eight months for the charge last year. Immigration representatives also highlighted his other legal woes, including allegations of drug possession in 2008 and 2009.
As a result of the visa denial, Wayne has scrapped all planned dates in Europe, including a performance at the Marquee Festival in Cork, Ireland on July 4th.  A representative for Wayne has yet to respond to requests for a comment.

The embattled rapper isn’t the only star to have experienced problems with the U.K.’s strict immigration laws – Snoop Dogg incurred the wrath of border officials in 2006 when he was arrested following a fracas at London’s Heathrow Airport, prompting them to deny him entry in 2007 after labeling the rapper a threat. The Gin and Juice hit-maker appealed the case and the ruling was reversed in 2010.

Lil Wayne has postponed the release of his upcoming album by a month to give himself more time to perfect the tracks.

The hip-hop star’s latest record, “Tha Carter IV,” was due to hit shelves on May 16, but the launch has now been pushed back until June 21.

Mack Maine, president of Lil Wayne’s Young Money record label, has put the delay down to the rapper’s determination to make sure the album is perfect.

He tells MTV news, “He’s still perfecting a few things, he’s a perfectionist… changing a few lines. We also have a huge record that wasn’t done yet. We’re in L.A. right now. We have a little studio time and it should be done probably by Monday.

“If you calculate all of that, by the time we would’ve finished mixing, we wouldn’t have met the (original) due date to turn in the album. So we had to push it back.”

A representative for Lil Wayne has dismissed reports alleging the rap superstar had a visa request to tour the U.K. denied by immigration officials, insisting no documents were ever filed.

The Lollipop hitmaker was said to have axed plans to take his I Am Still Music Tour to Europe in May after encountering trouble with border representatives.

Stereoboard.com claimed Wayne had had his work visa application rejected last month due to his recent eight-month prison stint for weapons possession.

But the hip-hop star’s spokesperson has denied the allegations and expressed hopes to travel across the Atlantic in the coming months.

In a statement issued to WENN, Wayne’s management says, “No visa was ever filed, nor were there any U.K. tour dates announced or tickets sold. Lil Wayne is currently headlining his I Am Still Music Tour across the U.S. and Canada with plans to extend the tour through North America this summer.

“We hope to bring the I Am Still Music Tour to the U.K. in the later half of the year.”

Lil Wayne is in a small and select group of hip hop artists that have had the honor of filming MTV Unplugged. The rapper puts on an awesome show and opens up about his jail time.

Lil Wayne has joined an elite group of hip hop artists, including LL Cool J, Jay-Z, Lauryn Hill and B.o.B., that have been a part of MTV’s Unplugged.

“It was humbling just to be a part of. As an artist that’s watched the game as closely as I did, to be on Unplugged is a high honor,” Wayne told the LA Times. “I’ve gotten people that haven’t texted me in a long time, text me today saying congratulations. It is that kind of thing. I felt great about it.”

Lil Wayne spent eight months behind bars for attempted gun possession from an arrest in 2007. He released his last CD, I Am Not a Human Being, while in jail – and it went on to debut at number two on the Billboard chart.

During his Unplugged performance, Lil Wayne used music to tell his stories. “A few months ago I was in a dark place that I don’t like to really shed light on,” he told the audience. “Everyone always asks, ‘How was it?’ I figured I’d find a way to answer that question.” He then went into a cover of 2Pac’s Hail Mary.

He also hinted about his upcoming album, slated for a June 21 release. “Just know that I have a pleasant surprise. A very pleasant surprise for this album when it comes out,” Lil Wayne said. “I’m only doing this for the fans. Which I do every… thing for.”

Two security guards who escorted Lil Wayne after a gig in Indiana on Tuesday night have been arrested on suspicion of impersonating police officers.

Ronald Andre Harrod, 43, and Larry Lee Richardson, 23, were part of a security team taking the rapper to a nightclub in Bloomington, Indiana after a concert at Indiana University’s Assembly Hall.

The two men, both from Indianapolis, allegedly dressed in police-style uniforms with gun belts and drove vehicles with flashing red and blue lights and sirens in a motorcade with the hip-hop star’s tour buses in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The men, who are believed to be employed by a local company, are facing charges of impersonating a public servant. They claim to have been given permission and the credentials to drive with lights and sirens.

Paris Hilton interviewed Lil’ Wayne for the April issue of Interview magazine, and the match provided some pretty amazing quotes.

The hip hop star talked about what it feels like to be called the “new king of hip-hop”, discovering Drake, and the most bizarre thing he has read about himself.

The two compare their time in solitary confinement and the possibility of a collaboration on Paris’ next album.

HILTON: And now you’re being called the new king of hip-hop. What do you think of that? Is it something that’s hard to live up to? Or is it exciting to have people say that?

WAYNE: It’s very exciting. I love pressure, so I guess if that brings forth pressure, then I’m up for it. But, you know, titles are titles, and names are names. As long as people remember me forever, that will be enough for me.

HILTON: What’s the most bizarre thing that you’ve ever read about yourself?

WAYNE: The most bizarre thing I’ve ever read about myself is that I was dead. That was kind of weird to read that I’m dead— mostly because I was reading it. [both laugh]

HILTON: I read that about myself once, too. It’s pretty bizarre.

You have to self-reflect. If you forget who you actually are, then what’s the use of even looking in the mirror.”

“I don’t hold nothing back. I do exactly what I want to do, and say exactly what I want to say. Sometimes I consider the fact that I have a daughter, but I also think about the realities of the world…I mean, once I get through that hump, then, like I said, I just say what’s on my mind.”

WAYNE: For me it was okay, because it just meant that I was alone with my thoughts.

HILTON: I had to do 24 nights in solitary. [Hilton was held in a separate cell as a safety precaution.]

WAYNE: Oh, so you know how it is.

HILTON: Yeah, I know how it is.

HILTON: How happy are you to have your freedom now?

WAYNE: Words cannot explain.

HILTON: Yeah, I know how you feel. [laughs] It’s the best feeling in the world when you come out.

Lil’ Wayne on if he is satisfied with his career:

“I’m nowhere near satisfied and I’m always hungry for more. I’m a very creative person, and the best part about creation is creating. So I always love to come up with new things, new ideas, new thoughts.”

Lil Wayne is allegedly facing another huge tax bill just months after settling a $1.13 million debt with authorities.

The rapper was hit with an income tax demand last June while he was serving a jail sentence on gun possession charges, and he paid the bill less than three weeks after his release from prison in November.

However, the Lollipop hit-maker is now said to be in tax trouble again after officials at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filed a $5.6 million lien against the star last Monday in Miami, Florida.

The allegedly unpaid bill relates to income taxes from 2008 and 2009, according to The Detroit News.

Rap sensation Nicki Minaj gave her mentor and tour mate Lil Wayne a night to remember on Sunday, when she treated him to a sexy lapdance during their concert in New York.

The stars took their I Am Music II trek to Long Island for the first of two dates at Nassau Coliseum and gave fans an eyeful during Minaj’s set, when she decided against pulling a lucky fan up onstage for her concert stunt – and instead chose to bump and grind against a smiling Wayne.

Before launching into her verse on Sean Kingston’s reggae tune Letting Go (Dutty Love), she told the hip-hop star, “You got the big moves, legs open, hands behind your back, mouth shut. Let’s go!”

Lil Wayne ran into trouble again earlier this week after he was reportedly stopped and searched by cops in Miami, Florida.

The “Lollipop” hitmaker became a free man again in November after completing an eight-month prison sentence for a weapons possession charge.

He pleaded guilty to one count of felony possession of a dangerous drug just days after he was released from prison and was handed 360 hours of community service in his adopted Miami, Florida as punishment. He was also banned from drinking as long as he is on probation.

But the rapper found himself being searched by federal agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency at a party at Opa-locka Airport in Miami, according to TMZ.com.

However, Lil Wayne was completely clean and had no contraband on his person, so agents allowed him to go on his way.

Nicki Minaj worries about being a role model for young fans.

She explained, “Being honest, if I had a daughter I wouldn’t want her listening to a Nicki Minaj CD until she was a certain age. Even when I meet my fans and they tell me they are 12, I cringe a little. I always say, ‘Listen. I don’t want you saying the bad words, put school first.’”

Rapper Lil Wayne is heading back to the stage in March for his first U.S. tour since serving time in prison last year.

The Lollipop hit-maker will launch the 25-date I Am Music II trek with a show in Buffalo, New York on March 18th, before hitting the stage in cities including Cleveland, Ohio; Chicago, Illinois; Miami, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia.

And he is making his comeback tour an all-star affair – he will be supported by hip-hop sensation Nicki Minaj, rapper Rick Ross and rocker Travis Barker.

Wayne walked free from New York’s tough Rikers Island incarceration center in November  after serving eight months for weapons possession.

He performed his first post-prison show with his protégé Drake in Las Vegas, just two days after regaining his freedom.

Lil Wayne has suspended his Twitter account after an internet prankster hacked in and sent a number of questionable messages to his fans and famous followers.

The rapper’s page is said to have been illegally accessed on Sunday, and a series of strange posts were subsequently sent out.

The hacker sent rude messages to Lil Wayne’s celebrity pals, including 50 Cent, Soulja Boy and The Game, and made explicit jibes about the Lollipop hit-maker’s recent spell in prison on weapons possession charges, according to AllHipHop.com.

A post sent to Soulja Boy reads, “I sent a donations (sic) to your Paypal, check it, I heard you got 13,000 (record) sales lil homie, I feel bad for you!”

Lil Wayne’s Twitter account has now been taken offline. The page was previously hacked late last year, with the impostor posting fake news that the rapper would be performing with Nicki Minaj. Lil Wayne said at the time, “I was just mad that somebody went on my Twitter, like that’s my personal Twitter!”

Saturday Night Live featured a great musical set as Lil Wayne and Eminem collaborated on one song and performed their own singles. Eminem made his first Saturday Night Live appearance since 2004 and Lil Wayne made his first national television appearance since he was released from prison on a weapons charge. Watch the video below!

The first song featured both rappers performing Eminem’s single “No Love” with a live band. Eminem then took the stage for “Won’t Back Down” and Lil Wayne finished things with his new single “6’7.”

Lil Wayne has changed one disabled person’s life for the better after treating a fan’s ailing mother to an $11,000 motorized wheelchair.
The “Lollipop” hitmaker was moved to help after receiving weekly letters of support from 39-year-old Ronda Austin while he was locked up on gun charges at New York’s Rikers Island prison.
Austin claims she shared tales about her everyday life with the incarcerated rapper, telling him about her mother Evelyn and how she had been confined to her house for almost two years.
Wayne, who was released from jail in November, recently delighted Austin when he surprised her with a phone call and enquired about her elderly mother, wondering if she had been able to buy a new wheelchair to replace the battered one she had been using for years.
And after learning the Austins were still struggling, he generously offered to pay for the new chair, telling the New Jersey residents, “Don’t worry about it. I got you.”
Austin tells the New York Daily News, “I couldn’t believe it. I never asked for nothing (sic). I just told him all kinds of different things about me. I never even said I needed help.”
The gift has allowed 64-year-old Evelyn the chance to venture out of her home, and she is grateful for the rapper’s kind-hearted gesture.
She says, “I pray for him every night thanking him for this chair. I love every bit of it. It changed my life.”
But Nina Packer, the head of Lil Wayne’s charitable foundation, insists the present was just a small token of Wayne’s appreciation for the undying support he received while behind bars.
She tells the newspaper, “It was something that he was compelled to do. He wanted to buy Mrs. Austin the Maybach (luxury car) of wheelchairs.”

Rapper Lil Wayne has reached a settlement in his long-running legal dispute over royalties with producer Jim Jonsin.

The beat-maker filed a $500,000 suit against Wayne in April, claiming he had yet to receive any payments for his work on the Grammy-winning single Lollipop – a track they co-wrote.

However Wayne, who was released from prison in November after serving time for gun charges, has since negotiated a deal with Jonsin to put the financial mess behind them.

Jonsin says, “We worked out an arrangement. They’re giving me some money now, and will pay the balance in the first or second quarter next year.”

“I never had an issue with Wayne, he and I were cool.”

Former President Bill Clinton has offered his support to incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne, insisting he hopes the star can have a “good life” after he is released from prison this week.
The Lollipop hit-maker has been serving out a sentence on weapons possession charges at New York’s tough Rikers Island prison and he is expected to regain his freedom in the next few days.  Clinton, who was introduced to rap by his daughter Chelsea, has now spoken out in favor of the hip-hop star, admitting he is confident Lil Wayne will go on to enjoy a long and successful music career.

He tells 96.1 Kiss FM, “My daughter introduced me to rap and hip-hop music, after I said some things she thought were not very smart. She said, ‘Dad you need to listen, a lot of these people are smart.’ This guy’s (Lil Wayne) smart and he’s got ability and he’s got a new chance now…”

“A lot of these people (rappers) they don’t get successful… by being really dumb, they’re really smart. But a lot of them have had really tough lives and they almost think its cool to get in trouble every now and then or they don’t know how to stay out. What I hope will happen is that he has a good life now.”

Lil Wayne‘s ex-wife is preparing to tell all about her relationship with the rapper in an upcoming autobiography.

Antonia ‘Toya’ Carter is putting pen to paper to write Priceless Inspiration, which will tell the story of her romance with Lil Wayne, her high school sweetheart. The pair married on Valentine’s Day in 2004 and split in 2006.

The book will also detail Carter’s upbringing with a drug addict mother as well as her own parenting experiences raising the Lollipop hit-maker’s daughter Reginae.

Carter’s memoir is due on shelves in February, according to AllHipHop.com.

Rapper Lil Wayne has been released from jail after serving eight months of a one-year sentence.

The hip-hop superstar has been locked up in New York’s Rikers Island prison following his conviction on weapon possession charges stemming from 2007.

Officers at the prison stated the star’s release date had been pushed back from Thursday to Friday because of him owing one day of “good time” due to breaking prison rules during his stint behind bars.

However, officials decided to free the rapper on Thursday morning as planned, TMZ.com has reported.

Rapper T.I. is to release his next album from behind bars – his follow-up to 2008′s “Paper Trail” will be released next month.
The hitmaker, real name Clifford Harris, Jr., surrendered to authorities in Arkansas on Monday and began serving an 11-month sentence after violating his probation connected to a previous stint behind bars on illegal weapons possession charges.
But his latest prison spell isn’t going to halt his career – T.I. has released a video he shot before his sentence began announcing his plans to hit the top of the album charts before the end of 2010.
Following in the footsteps of Lil Wayne, who released “I Am Not A Human Being” during his eight-month sentence at Rikers Island in New York, which ends on Thursday, T.I. has announced – via the video – that his new album, “No Mercy,” will hit shelves on December 7.
In the video, recorded exclusively for MTV, T.I. says, “I have big news for you guys today – my new album, entitled No Mercy, will be released on December 7.
“I just wanna give a shout out to all the fans for standing by me all this time. Without you, I’m nothing… I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. You’ll hear more from me soon. Hold it down ’til I get back.”
The music video for the album’s lead single, “Get Back Up,” which features another troubled star, Chris Brown, premiered on Wednesday’s 106th and Park show in America.
Originally titled “King Uncaged,” No Mercy will also feature guest spots from Kanye West, Eminem and Christina Aguilera.

Rapper Lil Wayne has been sentenced to serve 360 hours of community service in his adopted Miami, Florida, as punishment for a drug possession charge from 2008.
The hitmaker flew to Yuma, Arizona on Friday for sentencing, just a day after his release from New York’s Rikers Island prison, where he served eight months for illegal weapons possession.
The hearing stems from an arrest in the town two years ago when border patrol officers pulled over his tourbus and reportedly found cocaine, ecstasy and a handgun on board.
Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to one count of felony possession of a dangerous drug; the other drug charges and the gun charge were all thrown out.
As well as the community service, Wayne was also placed on probation for three years.
Following the sentencing, Lil Wayne jetted off to Miami for a welcome home party at exclusive strip club King of Diamonds.
According to TMZ.com, the rap star plans to celebrate his release from prison with proteges Drake and Nicki Minaj and record label boss Baby Williams.
But there’s one catch – the probation documents Wayne signed on Friday clearly state that he “may not consume or drink any substance containing alcohol” as long as he’s on probation. That means he’ll be sober at his big party.

A prison guard overseeing Lil Wayne‘s stint behind bars has been suspended over allegations he made an unscheduled 45-minute visit to the rapper’s cell.

The hip-hop star is currently incarcerated at New York’s Rikers Island jail, where he’s serving out an eight-month sentence on illegal weapons charges. He was recently caught using banned music equipment and banished to solitary confinement.

A Department of Correction captain at the jail has now been suspended after allegedly breaching the terms of Lil Wayne’s punishment by spending 45 minutes chatting to the star in his cell, even though he is supposed to be kept in isolation. Captain Raphael Collazzo is said to have been caught on camera making the unscheduled visit, according to the New York Daily News.

Patrick Ferraiuolo, president of the union for Department of Correction captains, is adamant Collazzo didn’t break any rules. He says, “I spoke to the captain and I said, ‘Do you know what’s going on?’ He goes: ‘I have done nothing wrong… I don’t have any dealings with this guy.’”

Correction officer Amelia Negron was fired from her job at the jail earlier this year after allegedly wandering into the unit where the star is being held without proper authorization.
